We sure did have fun.....

The GDHA show has always felt like home to us and we were tickled to be able to pull it together enough to attend this year. Thomas Maidl joined us from the frozen North to help us exhibit our mares. He was instantly part of the family and a truly calming presence in the barn. Summer Singleton (my right hand on the farm) got to experience her first draft horse show and I think she's been bitten by the bug. Our girls turned out well despite the short amount of time we had to prep and I was proud of them. We also were able to bring out 2 of the 2019 foals which is always a goal. They also showed well.

We hope to attend a few "deep water" shows in 2020. Look for us there.

SHOW SEASON 2017

GA NATIONAL FAIR 2017

After losing our show barn in 2016 we took a season off from the show ring. We pulled shoes from the horses, turned them out to pasture and took a deep breath. It actually turned out to be a huge blessing for us. Our girls got the chance to be horses for a while. Mommas had their foals and weren't rushed back into work. The humans took a break as well. This year we started our slow return to the show arena by attending the GA National Fair in Perry GA. Our BEST FRIEND, Eric Reisinger flew in from his busy job of breeding horses for the Budweiser breeding operation and helped us get 5 horses into their respective classes. It was a stellar showing. We started out the showing with an under saddle walk/trot Western class with Maple Stone Billie Roxanne. Roxy and I have worked hard the last year gaining skill and confidence under saddle. This was her first time in the arena without a harness and blinders. We had a few bugs to work out, but I'm very proud of her.

Kauffman's Royal King! King is our Grey Headed Oddity here at Classic City Clydesdales. He is a Percheron! He is also quite the looker. He won his class "Yearling Percheron Stallion" and then finished up his first show with Reserve Grand Champion Stallion honors! Not bad for a baby!

Classic City Latch's Sheila E. This lovely home bred filly won her class! She also took top honors in the GA Bred & Owned Category. Sheila is one of my favorite foals from this year and we are pleased with her performance. She acted like an old pro! She has a bright future!

The star of the show! Parnell Ranch Protege Peyton winning not only his Yearling Clydesdale Stallion class, but also taking Grand Champion Stallion honors. He may have taken top show honors had Gary Miller not presented one of the most incredible Belgian mares I've ever seen. Peyton made us proud! He's an incredible colt and we are excited to see him grow!

Always a fun class for us! Matched pairs! It's funny because Feebee and Roxy used to be spitting images. But, Roxy has outgrown Feebs just a tad! It's OK Feebs, you are still number one to me.

Macon managed to make it into his Sr Showmanship class with seconds to spare! I'm so happy he did as this is his last opportunity to perform in Youth Classes. He also helped Eric take the mares into Matched Pairs. Feebee has always been "his horse" and he went out with a bang. It was his best Youth Class to date!


Almost like she's saying "til next time my friend!" I teared up a little posting this! I'm so proud of my boy and the man he is becoming! Keep your head on straight kid and you'll be just fine!

SHOW SEASON 2015

This show season was new and exciting as we welcomed Travis Leeman to the CCC family as our teamster. He worked long hours and spent the time necessary to get the girls ready and they sure did sparkle under him. 2015 was a stellar year for us here at CCC. We couldn't be more proud of Travis and the girls! Here is to a long and beautiful relationship!

WE WERE SO PROUD OF MACON AS HE VENTURED OUT INTO NEW TERRITORY. MACON DROVE CART AND ENTERED THE YOUTH DECORATING CLASS. HE WAS ALSO IN YOUTH JUDGING AND YOUTH SHOWMANSHIP. HE DID IT ALL EXCEPT YOUTH TEAM (GREAT LAKES WILL BE HIS FIRST.) THIS SHOW WAS ALL ABOUT OUR YOUTH AND THEY ARE THE FUTURE! LOVE MY BOY AND HE LOVES HIS HORSES! WE SEE GREAT THINGS IN HIS FUTURE! GDHA 2014

Georgia National Fair

The Georgia National Fair is by far our favorite show of the year. Not only is it our "hometown" show, but it is also where it all began for us. While some would consider this show small by comparison it is the biggest in heart and soul. Most years all breeds are represented and we have a beautiful facility and supportive community cheering us on. It is not uncommon for the stands to be packed both Friday and Saturday nights. We are also a Classic Series points show! This year we had 5 Six Horse Hitches and all breeds represented. It was a spectacular show! Thank you to Chip Lawrence for driving the girls to numerous wins. Regardless of the number or color of ribbons we received, nothing compares to the camaraderie of our friends in the GDHA. Congrats to everyone on another perfect show.
